Border Cliffs River Retreat is an ideal location for those who enjoy being close up with nature. The nearby Chowilla Game reserve offers The Border Cliffs Wetland Trail starting near the old Customs House and meandering through a wetland supported by the many creeks that run through the reserve. The wetland flora & fauna are highlights of this trail, especially the majestic river red gums and abundant birdlife.
Canoeing
Just a short paddle up the river by canoe leads to Chowilla creek system, a well known area for canoeing enthusiasts. Take pleasure in exploring the peace and tranquility of billabongs and hidden creeks.
The historic Customs House general store is a 5 minute walk, where basic supplies can be purchased.
